I am a big proponent of limiting TV/Movie time and when I do allow it, I try to make it as educational as possible. When I learned about Rock N Learn last year I was thrilled! This company combines learning, music, and fun in a way that really grabs your child’s attention! My kids absolutely love every DVD we’ve ever gotten from them! Here is a little more about the company:
In our 24 years, Rock ’N Learn has won over 100 awards for educational videos and music to help kids learn ,, , , and . They also have DVDs to help students boost and score high on state-mandated standardized tests. Easy-to-use, these entertaining DVDs and iPad apps get results, as documented in case studies by several school districts.
Our most recent DVD from Rock ‘N Learn is the Money & Making Change DVD. This video uses characters named “Penny” and “Bill” to help children learn about all about money-from its’ history, to the value, and counting it! My boys are ENTHRALLED with this DVD. We have a weekly popcorn and movie night and they request this movie all the time! I have been working on money skills with my oldest son and this is a great reinforcement to what we’ve been doing! I love that skip counting is also addressed in the show-this is a HUGE skill for children to learn!
