Manage Your Mess Monday: How To Organize Toys

This is the third installment of my new series “Manage Your Mess Monday”. This series will focus on organizing your life and home. My goal is to have the series last 2 months with one post per week. I hope you find some useful tips to help you manage any “mess” you may have in your life. Visit here for my past Manage Your Mess posts.

After the holidays many homes are overwhelmed with toys and games and parents are left asking “What am I going to do with all of these toys?!” One solution is to donate.  We purged our toys and games before the holidays in anticipation of this “problem”.  However, with 2 boys 2 years apart, we still have quite a bit of items to help satisfy each age and ability level.  My husband built this shelf last year a wasted wall space in our play room.  I ADORE it!  I bought some containers on sale and am able to organize toys, games, books, and more.

If you don’t have a bookshelf, buckets and containers are a perfect solution to storing toys in a more organized manner and now is the perfect time to score these items at great prices.  Many stores have had them on sale for the New Year and they will have them even cheaper to now make room for Valentine’s Day items.  Some other ways I found to organize toys are listed below:
