Kids Frugal Fun: Homemade Valentines-Be My Love Bug!

Each week I bring you a craft that is fun, educational, and frugal. With Valentine’s Day sneaking up quick, I will be focusing on these crafts for the next month!

If you’ve missed any previous crafts, check out Momondealz’s Kids Frugal Fun page. Just a side note, I laminateas much as I can when doing crafts…it really helps to preserve them.

If you’re looking for more Valentine’s Day ideas, you’ll want to check out my posts on Homemade Valentines gifts and Valentines Quotes!

Remember, if you love any of my crafts, be sure to Pin them on Pinterest.

I don’t know about your child, but mine (and most of his friends) LOVE picking up rocks.  Here is a way to get the rocks out of your house and also refurbish them to make a creative and fun Valentine’s Day gift!

Homemade Valentines-Be My Love Bug

Paint (red, black, and white)
Printed label

1.  Locate a roundish rock and paint the top of it red.
2.  Then using black paint create the ladybug’s head and spots.

3.  Using white paint, add eyes and other desired details.

4.  Put the ladybug and other Valentine’s trinkets inside the bag and seal it with the sign “Won’t You Be My Lovebug?”

If you’re looking for a reading connection with this craft, there are a TON of wonderful Valentine’s Day books that you can read with your child! Here are some of my favorites:

Love this idea – great for boys….nothing more fun than rocks for boys!! Can’t wait to do it, we’re going to be “rocking” it this weekend.
