Kids Frugal Fun: Easter Flower Gifts

Easter Flower Gift

Each week I bring you a craft that is fun and frugal. With Easter THIS WEEKEND, I thought some of you may be looking for last minute gifts for family members or friends who aren’t “into” Easter baskets.  This craft didn’t turn out as well as I was hoping but I feel it’s important to show you my hits and misses so you can maybe make them even better!  Regardless, my kids LOVED this one-lots of painting where they didn’t have to stay in lines. :)

If you’ve missed any previous crafts, check out Momondealz’s Kids Frugal Fun page.

Just a side note, I laminateas much as I can when doing crafts…it really helps to preserve them.

Remember, if you love any of my crafts, be sure to Pin them on Pinterest!

2.  Paint the “egg” the color of your choice.

3.  Paint the bowl brown to resemble a nest.

4.  While paint dries, take your child outside to pick up “nest” materials.

5.  After brown paint is dry, cover the bowl with Modge Podge and adhere grass and sticks all over it.
6.  Glue the “egg” into the “nest” and fill with your choice of soil and flower!

Educational Activities:

  • Language Arts: Create your Easter Basket based on your child’s favorite book character. Talk about how the character is described in the book to help bring him or her to life for your child.
  • Science: This craft lends itself to learning about plant cycles and needs.Discuss with your child the needs of the plants (sun, water) and how all plants need these things to survive
