Review-Flip Flop Wine

Everyone loves a good glass of wine but not everyone loves the cost that can coincide with it.  Flip Flop Wines has strived to overcome this issue and has the goal to “Stay true to varietal character, to be expressive and to be well balanced, and to be affordable for people of all economic levels”.

The Vinter, David Georges, stated that, “People have a personal attachment to their favorite pair of flip folos, their favorite food, and to their favorite wine style. We crafted 7 different varitals that allow each wine lover to discover their favorite.”  As a girl who quickly switched out her high heels to her favorite flip flops under her dress on her wedding day, I had to see if they could achieve this goal.  They did

I was sent 3 bottles of Flip Flop wine to taste and review and I was pleased with them all!  Since I have always been a fan of white wine as opposed to red, the Pinot Grigio and Reisling were my first tests.  I found the pinot to be very refreshing and light, while my favorite, the Reisling, was more fruity and smooth.  I have always been partial to Reisling wine so not suprisingly, I found that one to be the best.

My husband has always been the red wine drinker so I let him try the Pinot Noir first.  He loved it saying it was very smooth and even said, “I think you will like this.”.  That is HUGE considering I don’t generally like reds.  He was right!  I enjoyed a glass with him that night after the kids went to bed and actually finished the entire glass (pretty big accomplishment since I haven’t found many red wines I can tolerate). It was much sweeter than the bitter reds I am accustomed to trying.

Bottom Line-My husband and I really enjoyed the Flip Flop Wines and love their affordability and availability in our local stores (they are actually on sale this week at Harris Teeter!). These are definitley going to be our choice for bringing to hosts of summer BBQ’s!  We know their “sense of comfort” will be a hit with all of our friend.

What’s even better?  Flip Flop Wines has teamed up with Soles4Souls and for every bottle of wine sold, Soles4Souls will donate a pair of shoes for someone in need.

I received no monetary compensation for this review and the opinions stated are 100% mine.

I LOVE red wines that are sweet. There’s a winery in Gatlinburg, TN that we toured on our honeymoon that had a delicious red wine. When we went back on our fifth anniversary, we made sure to purchase a few more than we did the first time we were there!

I will have to check out the Flip Flop wines brand. I’m sure it’ll be much cheaper than driving to Tennessee to buy wine! ;)

You’re right, finding an affordable wine is a challenge. Especially trying to find an enexpensive wine that still tastes great!
