Cupcake Diaries-Story Time, Review, & Giveaway!
If you read my blog very often, you know I LOVE children books. As a Mommy and a former elementary school teacher, I truly get excited when I find a new and cute book!
Simon and Schuster recently sent me the most adorable cupcake kit to review-it contained a cupcake themed apron and 3 cupcake books! 2 of the books were geared towards “tweens” called The Cupcake Diaries. These books are sure to delight any preteen in your life, while the 3rd book Who’s My Cupcake is an infant board book that plays around with nicknames many of us have for our children. The pictures are terrific and even my toddler thinks all the words are hilarious! It is also a great book to help your child get introduced to rhyming words! I decided to have a little bit of fun with this package and teamed up with a local children boutique (The Silver Rattle) and a cupcake company (Twisted Sisters Cupcakes) to bring a cupcake story time to local families.

i had a blast planning and performing this story time! It’s been over a year since I have had the opportunity to read and interact with large groups of kids and the teacher in me really had fun! I read a couple of cupcake books, including Who’s My Cupcake?, did a flannel finger play with the kids, helped create cupcake bookmarks, and of course enjoyed some yummy cupcakes! Beth from The Silver Rattle was kind enough to open her doors to the group and the Twisted Sisters supplied discounted cupcakes for me to distribute. Here are some pictures of the fun!

If you are local, stay tuned for more of these story times-I will be having them at The Silver Rattle once a month! The owner also offers additional (free) story times every Friday where local story teller “Miss Dawn” performs!
